Crab Cake Tacos

Crispy crab cake tacos with fresh cabbage slaw and spicy lime mayo. Easy to make at home and perfect for a quick, flavorful meal.


Servings: 4 Tacos


Ingredients

For the Crab Cakes

  • 4 Seafoodking crab cakes

  • 1–2 tbsp cooking oil


For the Cabbage Slaw

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (white or purple)

  • 1 small carrot, julienned

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • ½ tsp sugar

  • Pinch of salt

Mix everything and chill for 15–20 minutes.


For the Spicy Lime Mayo

  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp chili sauce (Sambal ABC / any bottled chili sauce)

  • 1 tsp lime juice

  • Pinch of salt

Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.


For Assembly

  • 4 small tortillas (soft flour tortillas are easiest to find)

  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

  • Lime wedges

  • Sliced cucumber or tomato (optional)


Instructions

Cook the Crab Cakes

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Cook crab cakes for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.

  3. Let them rest for 1 minute.

  4. Cut each crab cake in half or into chunks.


Warm the Tortillas

  • Heat tortillas in a dry pan for about 20–30 seconds per side.

  • Keep them warm in a clean towel.


Assemble the Tacos

Layer each tortilla with:

  1. Crab cake pieces

  2. Cabbage slaw

  3. Drizzle of spicy lime mayo

  4. Fresh cilantro

  5. Squeeze of lime

Serve immediately while warm.


Easy Substitutions

  • No tortillas? Use thin omelette wraps or even roti kebab.

  • No cabbage? Use shredded lettuce.

  • Want extra freshness? Add mango cubes for a sweet contrast.

  • Prefer spicy? Add sliced bird’s eye chili (cabe rawit).
