Servings: 2 - 3 Portions
Ingredients
6 of Seafoodking squid rolls
2 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (or margarine)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp oyster sauce
½ tsp ground white pepper
½ tsp sesame oil (optional)
1 tsp honey (optional, for extra caramelization)
1 tbsp cooking oil
Garnish
Sliced spring onions
Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Lime wedges
Instructions
If using frozen squid rolls, thaw completely and pat them dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, combine the sweet soy sauce, melted butter, garlic, oyster sauce, white pepper, sesame oil, and honey. Mix well.
Score the surface of each squid roll lightly with a knife to help the glaze absorb better. (Optional)
Brush the squid rolls generously with the glaze.
Heat a grill pan, non-stick skillet, or barbecue over medium heat. Lightly grease with cooking oil.
Grill the squid rolls for 3–4 minutes on each side, brushing with more glaze as they cook.
Continue grilling until the squid rolls develop a glossy finish with lightly charred edges.
Remove from the heat and brush with any remaining glaze for extra flavor.
Garnish with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with steamed rice, sambal, or fresh lime wedges.
