Crispy Fried Shrimp Balls

Golden and crunchy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, these Crispy Fried Shrimp Balls are an easy homemade snack made with simple ingredients, perfect for appetizers, party platters, or everyday comfort food.

Servings: 3 - 4 Portions

Ingredients

  • 8–10 shrimp balls (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • Oil for deep frying

Optional for Extra Flavor:

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (mix into breadcrumbs)

Instructions

Prepare the Coating Station

Prepare three separate bowls:

  1. Bowl 1: Mix flour with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. Bowl 2: Add beaten eggs.

  3. Bowl 3: Add breadcrumbs (mix with paprika or Parmesan if using).

Coat the Shrimp Balls

  1. Pat the shrimp balls dry if needed.

  2. Roll each shrimp ball in flour and coat evenly.

  3. Dip into the beaten eggs.

  4. Coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs, pressing gently so the crumbs stick well.

For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step once more (double coating).

Fry Until Golden

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan to 170–180°C (340–350°F).

  2. Fry shrimp balls in batches (do not overcrowd).

  3. Cook for 3–4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. Remove and drain on paper towels or a wire rack.
