Fish Roll Canapé with Herb Cream Cheese

Elegant and easy fish roll canapé topped with herb cream cheese, perfect for parties, catering, or gourmet appetizers with a refined presentation.


Servings: 12 - 15 Pieces


Ingredients

For the base:

  • 1 baguette, sliced (1–1.5 cm thick) or crackers


For the topping:

  • 2 fish rolls, sliced into thin rounds

  • 150 g cream cheese (room temperature)

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp chives, finely chopped

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


For garnish:

  • Microgreens or additional chopped chives

  • Lemon zest (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the base

    Lightly toast the baguette slices in the oven at 180°C for 5–7 minutes until crisp. Let cool.


  2. Make the herb cream cheese

    In a bowl, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, parsley, and chives. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.


  3. Assemble the canapé

    Spread or pipe a layer of herb cream cheese onto each toasted baguette slice or cracker.


  4. Add the fish roll

    Place 1–2 slices of fish roll on top of each piece.


  5. Garnish & finish

    Top with microgreens, extra chives, or a touch of lemon zest for freshness.


  6. Serve

    Arrange neatly on a serving platter and serve immediately.


Chef Tips

  • Use a piping bag for a more refined, elegant look.

  • Add a thin slice of cucumber underneath for extra texture.

  • For premium presentation, brush baguette lightly with olive oil before toasting.
