Golden toasted bread layered with curry fish balls and creamy cheese, delivering a perfect balance of spice and richness.
Servings: 2 Sandwiches
Ingredients
Main Ingredients:
6–8 curry fish balls (thinly sliced)
4 slices white bread (or whole wheat)
2 slices cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1–2 tbsp chili sauce (optional)
½ cup fresh lettuce (washed and dried)
1 tbsp butter (for grilling)
Optional Add-ons:
Sliced tomatoes
Caramelized onions
Black pepper
A squeeze of lime juice (for brightness)
Instructions
Prepare the Fish Balls
Slice the curry fish balls thinly.
Heat a pan over medium heat with a small amount of oil.
Lightly sauté the slices for 2–3 minutes until warmed through and slightly golden.
Set aside.
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each bread slice.
Add chili sauce (if using).
Layer lettuce, sautéed curry fish ball slices, and cheese.
Add optional toppings if desired.
Close the sandwich with another slice of bread.
Grill the Sandwich
Heat a pan or grill pan over medium-low heat.
Spread butter on the outside of the bread.
Grill the sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side.
Press gently with a spatula until golden brown and crispy.
Flip carefully and grill the other side until the cheese melts.
Tips for Best Results
Cook on medium-low heat to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.
For extra crispiness, use a sandwich press.
Let the sandwich rest for 1 minute before slicing to prevent fillings from sliding out.
Serving Suggestion
Slice diagonally for a café-style look.
Serve with fries, salad, or potato chips.
Best enjoyed warm while the cheese is melted and stretchy.
