Ingredients

Main:

  • 1 pack of Seafoodking Fish Bar

Glaze Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Honey (high quality)

  • 2 tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Manis)

  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Margarine (melted)

  • 1 tsp Chili Sauce (optional for a slight kick)

Aromatics (Mashed/Blended)

  • 3 cloves Garlic

  • 1 tsp Coriander seeds (powdered)

  • A pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preparation

Thaw the Fish Bar if frozen. You can keep them whole for a "satay" look or slice them diagonally for more surface area to catch the glaze.

  2. Mixing the Glaze

In a small bowl, combine the melted margarine, honey, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, and the sautéed aromatics. Stir until smooth.

  3. Grilling

Heat a non-stick grill pan or teflon over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little bit of oil or margarine.

  4. Basting

Place the Fish Bars on the pan. Using a brush, generously coat the Fish Bars with the honey glaze.

  5. Caramelizing

Grill for 2–3 minutes on each side until you see charred, caramelized edges (the "bakar" effect). Apply another layer of glaze during the last minute of grilling for an extra glossy finish.

  6. Serving

Transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds or chopped scallions for a professional touch.
