A rich and comforting creamy soup featuring Seafoodking Otak-Otak Holland, delivering a smooth, savory bowl with a subtle seafood twist.
Ingredients
200 g Seafoodking Otak-Otak Holland (cheese-filled), diced
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
500 ml chicken or fish stock
200 ml cooking cream
100 ml milk
1 small carrot, finely diced
50 g sweet corn kernels
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
Chopped parsley or chives, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Base
In a pot, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft and translucent, then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Make the Roux
Add flour and stir continuously for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw taste, forming a smooth roux.
Build the Soup
Gradually pour in the stock while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring to a gentle simmer until slightly thickened.
Add Vegetables
Add diced carrot and corn. Cook for 5–7 minutes until tender.
Incorporate Creaminess
Pour in the cream and milk. Stir well and keep the heat low.
Add Otak-Otak
Add the diced otak-otak Holland and simmer gently for 3–5 minutes. The cheese inside will slightly melt, enriching the soup naturally.
Season & Finish
Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using. Adjust consistency with a bit of stock or milk if needed.
Serve
Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley or chives.
