A warm and comforting creamy soup made with tender salmon balls, fresh vegetables, and a rich milky broth. Simple, nourishing, and perfect for cozy family meals at home.
Servings: 3 - 4 Portions
Ingredients
10–12 salmon balls
1 tbsp butter or cooking oil
3 cloves garlic (minced)
½ onion (chopped)
1 medium potato (peeled and diced small)
1 small carrot (diced)
½ cup broccoli florets
750 ml chicken or vegetable broth
200 ml fresh milk
2 tbsp cooking cream (optional, for extra richness)
½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried parsley (optional)
Instructions
Lightly Cook the Salmon Balls
You can either:
Pan-sear them for 2–3 minutes for extra flavor, or
Add them directly into the soup if already pre-cooked.
Set aside.
Sauté the Aromatics
Heat butter in a pot over medium heat.
Add garlic and onion.
Cook until fragrant and soft (about 2–3 minutes).
Cook the Vegetables
Add diced potato and carrot.
Pour in the broth.
Bring to a gentle boil.
Simmer for about 8–10 minutes until vegetables are tender.
Add Salmon Balls & Finish the Soup
Add salmon balls and broccoli.
Pour in milk and cooking cream.
Simmer gently for another 5 minutes (do not boil too hard after adding milk).
Season with salt, black pepper, and parsley.
The soup should be creamy but still light — not too thick.
Make It Even Easier
No cream? Just use milk — it will still be delicious.
Want thicker soup? Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and stir in.
For kids: chop vegetables smaller and reduce pepper.
For extra flavor: add a small pinch of nutmeg.
