Salmon Ball Creamy Soup

Salmon Ball Creamy Soup

A warm and comforting creamy soup made with tender salmon balls, fresh vegetables, and a rich milky broth. Simple, nourishing, and perfect for cozy family meals at home.

Servings: 3 - 4 Portions

 Ingredients

  • 10–12 salmon balls

  • 1 tbsp butter or cooking oil

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

  • ½ onion (chopped)

  • 1 medium potato (peeled and diced small)

  • 1 small carrot (diced)

  • ½ cup broccoli florets

  • 750 ml chicken or vegetable broth

  • 200 ml fresh milk

  • 2 tbsp cooking cream (optional, for extra richness)

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

Lightly Cook the Salmon Balls

You can either:

  • Pan-sear them for 2–3 minutes for extra flavor, or

  • Add them directly into the soup if already pre-cooked.

  • Set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics

  • Heat butter in a pot over medium heat.

  • Add garlic and onion.

  • Cook until fragrant and soft (about 2–3 minutes).

Cook the Vegetables

  • Add diced potato and carrot.

  • Pour in the broth.

  • Bring to a gentle boil.

  • Simmer for about 8–10 minutes until vegetables are tender.

Add Salmon Balls & Finish the Soup

  • Add salmon balls and broccoli.

  • Pour in milk and cooking cream.

  • Simmer gently for another 5 minutes (do not boil too hard after adding milk).

  • Season with salt, black pepper, and parsley.

The soup should be creamy but still light — not too thick.

Make It Even Easier

  • No cream? Just use milk — it will still be delicious.

  • Want thicker soup? Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and stir in.

  • For kids: chop vegetables smaller and reduce pepper.

  • For extra flavor: add a small pinch of nutmeg.
