Seafood Tofu with Spicy Butter Rice

Crispy seafood tofu tossed in a rich, savory butter sauce with a hint of spice, perfectly golden, flavorful, and irresistibly satisfying.


Ingredients

Main:

  • 250 g seafood tofu (cut into bite-sized cubes)

  • 100 g shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (for coating)

  • Oil for frying


Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)

  • 3–5 bird’s eye chilies (sliced, adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2 tbsp water


Garnish:

  • Chopped spring onions

  • Sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu

    Lightly coat the seafood tofu with cornstarch.


  2. Fry until golden

    Heat oil in a pan and fry the tofu until crispy and golden brown. Remove and set aside.


  3. Cook the shrimp

    In the same pan, sauté the shrimp until just cooked (about 1–2 minutes). Set aside.


  4. Make the butter sauce

    Melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and chilies, sauté until fragrant.


  5. Build the flavor

    Add oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and water. Stir well and let it simmer slightly.


  6. Combine everything

    Add the fried tofu and shrimp into the sauce. Toss gently until evenly coated.


  7. Finish & serve

    Sprinkle with spring onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
